  SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL SKILLS

Social-emotional development refers to a child’s ability to identify feelings, self-regulate and build relationships.

In our Sunflower Bilingual Daycare center we model and teach our children kindness, how to be a good friend - how to play together and how to share, how to solve problems and resolve conflicts, how to praise each other's good work or good actions, high expectations, etc..

Therefore, we integrate a social-emotional component into our monthly lesson plans because young children who have strong social and emotional development are more likely to have good academic performance in future schooling.
