Our enrollment process
Our enrollment process is somewhat comprehensive and all steps should be taken in the order listed below. We do not officially reserve spots in our program until all steps have been completed. For immediate enrollments, it might take up to a week or more before we can accept your child(ren).
Step 1 - TOUR OF OUR CENTER
A family should schedule a tour of our facility, to meet the teachers and the director, to look around and to have all their questions answered. The tour will give the initial impression whether our program and your family are a good fit. If a family is not yet in Minnesota, but moving soon and wants to get to know Sunflower Bilingual Daycare, we'd love to arrange a virtual tour.
Step 2 - ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
Once the decision to enroll has been made, please confirm to us in writing and let us know the following:
The confirmed start date
Whether the attendance will be full time or days of the week if part time
Step 3 - PARENT HANDBOOK
We will email the parents our Parent Handbook. Please provide email addresses. Please take your time to review all sections of the Handbook to get familiar with ALL our policies, processes and procedures. We want all our families to be completely comfortable joining us and to know from the start how our center operates. Once the Parent Handbook has been reviewed, please get back to us with any questions and if there are no questions, please email us the signed Parent Handbook Acknowledgement Page.
Step 4 - REGISTRATION PAYMENT
Please provide the email addresses of the parties that would be responsible for payments. We will email the invoice for the deposit (flat rate $250), the registration fee ($25) and a supplies fee ($25 - but waived for infants).
Step 5 - ENROLLMENT PACKET
Once the registration payment has been made, we will email our enrollment packet. All forms must be completed and reviewed by us prior to starting. We can not accept a child with any missing forms or any missing information on the forms. For enrollments some time in the future - the packet should be completed closer to the start date.
Step 6 - REVIEW OF ENROLLMENT FORMS
Once all forms have been completed, please email them to the director for review or please stop by with the originals. The director will also review the forms with the staff members whose group a child will be placed in. We want to be completely ready to work with your child and to know as much as possible about the child by the child's first day! It will greatly help us to meet all child's needs!
Step 7 - DELIVERY OF ITEMS NEEDED FOR CARE
Prior to the child's first day a parent should bring all important items (e.g. diapers, wipes, extra clothes, etc.). We are recommending that all these items are dropped off prior to the first day, ideally with the enrollment forms above, to have a smoother first time drop off.
